Autumn 2014 Update
Wednesday, 26 November 2014 00:00

NBD-02What an Autumn it’s been – the Scottish Referendum had a big effect on the property market, especially in the Borders where everyone sat tight and waited to see the result before normal buying and selling levels returned. The anticipated post-result “bounce” in new properties coming to market immediately after the announcement didn’t really happen but, happily, there has been considerable activity in the last month and I’ve been putting in lots of miles around the beautiful counties of Berwickshire and Northumberland.

From time to time something different comes along and I was recently invited to provide photography to support a new educational website. This is being launched by North British Distillers and charts the end-to-end process of producing spirit for the Scotch Whisky industry www.preventforschools.org. The project provided the perfect opportunity to add something new to my Commercial Portfolio beyond the core business of Property and Interiors and I will post a Link to the website once it is launched shortly.

January 2014 Update
Friday, 03 January 2014 00:00

9 Charlotte SquareA happy new year to all visitors to my site and, for me, 2013 has just flown by.  It has seen the business expand significantly through the acquisition of new clients, and an out-of-the-blue meeting early in the year has created some great collaborative business with a fellow property photographer.

The Residential Property market has remained core to the business but 2013 saw a number of fantastic individual projects. Memorable shoots included a full Georgian Townhouse in Edinburgh's historic Charlotte Square, and an iconic Church of 1828 also in the city's New Town.  Commercial Property has also been more prominent lately and an ongoing project for a High Street chain of retail shops has taken me the length and breadth of the country.

I've long recognised the need to update the images on the website homepage.  I hope to complete this within the next few weeks so please pop back soon for a look.

Stewart Milne Homes
Thursday, 18 August 2011 00:00

Beechtrees09In response to a recent marketing campaign to attract new clients in the property development sector, earlier this month I was invited to discuss an opportunity to work with Stewart Milne Homes.

Stewart Milne Homes Ltd is one of the largest independent housebuilders in the country and currently have over thirty housing developments in their stock.  The company had not been entirely happy with the quality of some of their marketing photographs and I was initially asked to shoot one of their showhomes to see if I could provide something more of the style that they were looking for.

The outcome of this initial work was a happy new client, three further showhome shoots and ongoing discussions about future projects  There's no doubt in my mind that the key to this outcome was early dialogue to nail down the client's wishes clearly - always an absolute must for me.

CuthbertWhite Ltd

CuthbertWhite DirectorsNew clients Chris Cuthbert and Nick White contacted me recently to discuss their requirements for corporate portraits for a new company website.  CuthbertWhite Ltd provide property consultancy services across a variety of sectors, mainly specialising in the office market.

I wanted to portray Chris and Nick both as a team working closely together and also frame the shots in a way that profiled each of them as individual professionals in their field.  The shoot was done in one of the company's bright and airy offices, making good use of the available window lighting and using the rows of pillars to allow the guys to pose in a relaxed way.

The event has led to further work with the company and some excellent contacts also established.  You can see the portraits and find out more about CuthbertWhite Ltd HERE

The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
